Sunday Brunch with Mr and Miss C

female Cardinal

Miss Mush-mouth snacks on the crape myrtle leftovers.

Then wipes her beak on the limbs but still has leftovers.

male Cardinal

Lil' Red does the same thing but he is a neater-eater  :>)

He takes black sunflower seeds from the feeder and dips them into the birdbath.

Mr smarty-pants softens the seeds and washes his beak all at the same time.

Happy Sunday everyone :)

  2. What striking birds. What are they? They look very much like our mousebirds who are grey and mousy. I love your captions. Have a wonderful day. Blessings Jo

  4. Nice! We have a pair at the feeders, but we don't have any berries so it's just seeds. Usually it's the guy who's the messy eater! :-)

  5. Oh, what fun captures for the day, Pam! Mr. Cardinal has to show off what a neat gentleman he is, Mrs. Mama Cardinal doesn't have time to worry about such detail!!! I love them! Thanks as always for sharing! Hope you've had a great weekend!

  6. Nice to see cardinals in other parts of the world. We have a resident pair year round in my southern Ontario backyard. I've never seen the dipping of seeds in water from Mr. C though.

  12. lol. He's a neater eater than many human men i know. :) They're both beautiful. Though the female, of course, isn't quite as showy. I love to watch mated birds!

  16. Beautiful pictures Pam! I used to see cardinals in the snow on Christmas cards (back in the day when people still sent them)...your pictures would perfectly symbolize Winter in Florida!
